Thailand banks on poor to boost economy – 26 March 09

The Thai government hoping to increase consumer spending and stimulate the economy by giving money to the country’s poor. The global recession and months of political unrest have taken a toll on the economy. Tourism and export revenues have decreased significantly. Al Jazeera’s Selina Downes reports from Bangkok.
